Questions & Answers for Helical Gear 39

After removing the helical gear, how do I attach the new helical gear? Is there a gear setter tool?
Leopoldo for model number Makita gv7000c asked on 2023-10-26
Hi Leopoldo and thank you for contacting us. The best way to perform this is with a press, if you do not have a press or access to one the I recommend you heat up the gear to get it to expand and put the shaft in the freezer to get it to shrink then attach it to the shaft. You may have to use a socket thats big enough to fit over the shaft. Place the socket onto of the gear and tap it into place. Best Regards

How do I remove the helical gear from the part it's attached to?
Leo for model number Makita gv7000c asked on 2023-10-23
Hello Leo, Thank you for your inquiry. A gear puller tool will be able to pull that off of the shaft easily. You may also want to heat it up as well with a heat gun so it expands a bit and comes off. I hope this helps and good luck with your repair.
