This item works with the following types of products:
- • Coffee Maker
- • Tea Maker
2 - Removed wiring and water connections from top of heating canister
3 - Opened water heating canister
4- Disconnected the heating element and replaced - two nuts.
5 - Reassembled and checked for leaks
6 - Replaced heating limit switch
7 - Reconnected power and checked for proper heating of water
Took photos as I took the unit apart to insure proper reassembly, especially wiring connections.
Water leak was not detected until re-connected to water line (not a pour-over unit) so that required slight additional work, but easily done.
What is the resistance reading for the heating element? I get 9.5 ohms, and the part I just replaced was the power board and the heater relay was black on the circuit board on the hi amp side of the relay. I am concerned that the heater element may be bad.
The manufacture doesn't supply that type of information to us. Your best bet would be to call them and speak to tech service. They should be able to help you with that.
According to the manufacture the heating element for your model 1072 is 2N-70143UL. The other element is for model number 1072-120C.
Hope this helps,
