1. Turned water main off
2. Removed handle with allen wrench
3. Removed 1 screw
4. Removed plastic handle adaptor and both plastic stoppers
5. Replaced 2 plastic stoppers and placed nodules in the 12:00 position. (Placing the outer stopper in the1:00 or 2:00 position will lower temperature of the water.)
6. Replaced handle adaptor, screw, and handle.

Because I couldn't unscrew the Moen faucet handle I had no choice but to break the adapter and remove the handle and after that it was easy to replace the faucet cartridge and put back the handle with a new adapter and screw.
