Parts Used
1. Remove the upper housing cover from the machine. This will require the removal of the dash panel first. The dash panel frames the primer button, starter key,electric start button and pull rope. Once the dash panel can be moved, extend the manual start pull rope and tie it to the upper handle then slide the dash panel up the rope and secure it near the upper handle. This will prevent the dash from getting in the way of your work area.
2. Remove the chute and swivel assembly.
3. Remove upper housing cover.
4. Remove the thin, flexible, black cover from the underside of the machine.
5. Remove the electric start/plug assembly
6. Remove the retaining clips securing the cable connecting the start button/ plug assembly to the starter.
7. Remove top and bottom screws from the starter motor housing and pull it from unit.
8. Assemble new part #801293 drive-starter brass gear assembly.
9. Remove old brass gear and replace it with new part.
10. Reinstall follow steps seven thru one.
