This is a genuine replacement part sourced from the original manufacturer for use with lawn mowers and lawn tractors made by MTD, Yard Man, Yard Machines, and Troy-Bilt. The chute assembly attaches to the deck and is made out of plastic. When replacing this part an adjustable wrench might be required during the installation process. It will need to be replaced if it breaks. This part is available as an individual replacement part.

    3. Replace nuts and tighten.

    Gear on the bottom of the steering shaft stripped after the upper and lower bearings wore and allowed shaft to no longer contact sector gear as designed

    Removed hood, to keep from shutting at the most inopportune time
    Disassembled dash after removing the steering wheel
    Removed screw from bottom of the steering shaft
    Removed shaft and both worn bearings
    Reassembled in reverse order with new bearings and steering shaft

    Discharge chute was not exact fit, requires drilling 2 new holes in the deck and new mounting bolts

    Throttle cable r and r straight forward

    Chute bracket broke

    1. removed old chute and bracket.
    2. Lined up new bracket and found the bolt/mounting holes didn't line up.
    3. Drilled two new holes in the deck.
    4. Mounted he new chute using the new holes.
    5. Fired up and cut 2 1/2 acres with no problem.
    6. Cleaned deck and double checked new mounting bolts.
    7. One more small job done.
