Removed the agitator from the washer & found the broken part (1 cam dog of 4).
Ordered the parts - not really sure that the spacer needed to be replaced but it did show wear-
installation of new parts - very simple
the most time consuming part of the repair was cleaning up the washer, agitator and soap dispenser
