This is the adjusting slide, located near the switch assembly (variable speed trigger switch). This adjusting slide is manufacturer-approved and sold as an individual part. This red plastic part is what the user pushes back and forth to change the rotation of the bit, and for locking the trigger in an OFF position. By moving this lever to the far left, this puts the tool in forward rotation. For reverse rotation, the lever needs to be positioned to the far right. To lock the trigger, the lever needs to be in the center position. Due to its constant use, and exposure to the outside environment, this switch can break or crack and will need to be replaced
