Nice OEM Parts
My order was actually for three parts: Spark Plug (168401-9), Air Cleaner Element (443140-5), and Air Cleaner Element (443141-3). They were as described and exactly what I needed. Installation was a piece of cake and my blower is running like new. I would have given five stars except the shipping could have been quicker. My order was placed 4/25. On 4/26 I received an email saying my parts had shipped. USPS tracking indicated the shipping label was created on 4/26 but the package wasn't received by them until 4/30. It was standard shipping and I received the package on 5/2 - typical for 530 miles.

Air cleaner cover broke where the screw held it in place
Remove the primer bulb cover, remove the old bulb and insert the new one and screw the cover on. Remove the air cleaner cover then remove the old air cleaner and install the new one. Remove the spark plug and gap the new one at 0.030
Disassemble the carburetor to get to the pump bulb was easy but when it is time to re-assembly it seems like there are little rubber o-ring and a few small parts that just would not fit in. The saver was the mechanical diagram of parts showing exactly which component goes into what position. Once I read the diagram it takes less than 30
... Read more minutes to put everything in place. The blower started on first pull and it purrs nicely.
Lesson learned. First, print out the assembly diagram and/or taking photos of each component BEFORE disassembly.
It is amazing that this Makita 4-stroke leaf blower has run for 21 years without any repair until now. During the past year it began to get a little more difficult to start until few weeks ago when the bulb finally leaked to the point that I could not get fuel into the carb.
Thanks eReplacementParts.com for the parts and diagram availability for the home handyman ME to fix it. The local shop wanted $60 to clean the carb and replace the bulb plus a two weeks turnaround time. I spent less than $20 and got the satisfaction of being able to do it myself in half day.
Replaced spark plug and gapped it at approximately 0.8mm, then removed the air cleaner cover and removed the old air filters and replace them with the new ones.
