Lesson learned. First, print out the assembly diagram and/or taking photos of each component BEFORE disassembly.
It is amazing that this Makita 4-stroke leaf blower has run for 21 years without any repair until now. During the past year it began to get a little more difficult to start until few weeks ago when the bulb finally leaked to the point that I could not get fuel into the carb.
Thanks eReplacementParts.com for the parts and diagram availability for the home handyman ME to fix it. The local shop wanted $60 to clean the carb and replace the bulb plus a two weeks turnaround time. I spent less than $20 and got the satisfaction of being able to do it myself in half day.
