Took off the carburetor and disassembled it completely. Cleaned the bare metal body with carb cleaner and blew it dry with compressed air. Rebuilt it with the gasket and reed kit, reinstalled it and then put on the new fuel tank, fuel filter, air filter, tank grommet and new fuel and vent lines. Drive shaft was stretched. Grips dry rotted. Carburetor was not priming. Trimmer gear head was missing fixed blade and spacer.
Rebuilt carb.
Removed engine from tube and replaced drive shaft.
Remove clutch drum cover and removed old clutch and installed new clutch.
Reinstalled tube to engine.
Connected throttle cable and ground wire.
Installed gear head spacer and cover blade and installed new speed feed head.
Started rig

Was a free trimmer so rebuilding it for my lawn care business made perfect sense. Spent $70 to have a $300 weed eater. ECHO ENGINES GO THE DISTANCE. just do maintenance and you can run them for years and years. One of mine is 12 years old and the other is 15 yrs old. Run them 6 days a week.
