Took off the carburetor and disassembled it completely. Cleaned the bare metal body with carb cleaner and blew it dry with compressed air. Rebuilt it with the gasket and reed kit, reinstalled it and then put on the new fuel tank, fuel filter, air filter, tank grommet and new fuel and vent lines. Installed new engine cover, spark plug, ven t for fuel tank and head guard.

Replaced the carb filter cover is just remove the wing nut and replace. Then I used a 3/16GÇ¥ punch to hold the shaft to unscrew the trimmer head (backwards threads). Next - remove three screws holding the plastic trimmer head guard. Replace guard and reassemble This guard somewhat protects you from flying debris, but also has a blade th at cuts the trimmer string to the right length. That blade part broke of mine!
