Product Description

?

This is a Genuine Manufacturer Sourced replacement part used on Lawn and Garden Equipment. This part is made out of Metal and it is Sold Individually. Ball Bearings are used to reduce friction between rotating parts. The balls or rollers take the load and spin, distributing the weight evenly while the minimal contact area of the ball reduces friction. This reduces wear on the tool and allows it to run smoothly. Bearings experience constant wear when the tool is in operation from pressure, heat, vibration and friction. Because of this, many Bearings need periodic maintenance or replacement. To replace this Bearing you would need a Screwdriver and a Set of Wrenches.

The bearings were bad on two of the blade shaft spindles

David from McDonough , Georgia

1 person found this instruction helpful.
Difficulty Level:
A Bit Difficult
Total Repair Time:
More than 2 hours
Tools:
Nutdriver, Pliers, Screw drivers, Socket set, Wrench (Adjustable), Wrench set
The bearings had gone bad in two of my blade spindles. I thought it was going to be a simple repair until I tried getting them apart. In order to get them apart I had to cut the shaft and beat it out the other side to the point of no repair. I was able to savage the housing and thanks to ereplacement parts I was able to get the new shaft s and bearings that were needed to get my Snapper zero turn back to work. The original bearings, and the bearings I received were sealed bearings, so I removed the seal from the inner side of both bearings and installed a grease fitting in the housing. So now I have access to grease the bearings when needed, so hopefully this will extend the life expectancy of the bearings so I never have to make this repair again.

Thanks Ereplacement Parts for getting my parts to me in a timely manner.
