The metal flat washer is priced individually. It attaches to the cast iron axle along with the bolt and the bearing. A set of pliers, a screwdriver, and a wrench may be necessary during the installation of this item. This is an original part for Murray lawn tractors and Snapper rear engine rider mowers.
1. Removed engine and belts.
2. Removed wheels, axle shaft and flanged bushings.
3. Removed Murray drive clutch and hex shaft.
4. Disassembled pulleys and bearings from impeller shaft.
5. Had to use a cut off blade on 4\" angle grinder and cut shaft in 4 pieces to remove worm drive, augers and second stage impeller

6. Rebuilt worm drive.
7. Welded all minor cracks.
8. Straighten bent augers and 2nd stage impeller.
9. Reassembled snowblower which was very easy with the new parts.
10. While the snow blower was apart I took the opportunity to clean and repaint all parts.

Tie rod end worn out (came apart) and bearings worn.
1. Jacked up front end of mower.
2. removed nuts/washers from tie rod ends.
3. Replaced new tie rods with old nuts/washers.
4. Removed hub caps from front wheels and cleaned off excess grease.
5. Removed cotter pin, washer, wheel, inner washers, seal, and cap dust cover.

7. Replaced bearings and put everything back in reverse order.
8. Added grease to wheels between the bearings and replaced the hub caps.
Took off front tire after I jacked it up, replaced cotter pins, replaced old grease with new one for bearing. Knocked out the bushing and replaced with new one, added shimm washer to make tires fit properly on axle. Done same thing on the other side. Replace steering wheel bushing with new one. Adding shims to it to make it tighter also.

Pulled the cotter pen
remove the wheel
used screwdriver and hammer to pop out the old bearings
cleaned out old grease
used a hammer and block of wood to hammer in new bearings
re-attached the wheel
grease hub
removed front left wheel
removed worn bearings using hammer and large screwdriver for one bearing, socket with extension for the second.
installed new bearings
reinstalled wheel with new washers to get correct spacing on axle
greased axle using grease gun
tested

Snapper riding mower had to much play in the steering
1. Remove both front tires
2. Remove all cotter keys from steering parts
3. Remove snap-rings from both spindles
4. Install new bearings, 8, in spindles and tie rod ends
5. This tightened up the steering
