1. Installed new mandrel on deck but I did not use the new stripper.

Remove the mower deck from the lawn tractor. Remove the spindle brake arms from the deck pulley assembly. Install the new brake arm and springs using the same spacers and nuts.

Arm brake was wore out, spring was missing, idler spring worn, clutch showed worn.
when\'t well. fast and easy. I unhooked the mower deck from the tractor, slid the deck to one side and replaced and added the parts needed to get the mower to work properly. Easy peasy it was done..

L/H side mandrel cracked after impact with concrete side walk.
Took pic...removed deck from under tractor, left cable attached....took pic....replaced belt and then spring...reconnected all pins..reinstalled deck back under tractor...connected drag links....changed fuel filter...changed oil and filter...pretty straight forward...craftsman 42\" 21.5 OHV Twin...well built
I dropped any pulled the deck, took off the springs, replaced them, took the broken belt guard, replaced it with the new one, ereplacement parts has always come through for me
Removed old rusted stretched springs
lubed hinges and replaced springs
worked broke bolts out with WD-40
Anti-sized new bolts and installed
Ground entire deck down, removed rust, primered and repainted
Mower deck repair completed
