This is a genuine OEM supplied component which is designed for use with Toro riding lawn mowers and garden tractors. It is the main belt that drives the unit. Unfortunately, over time it may wear out or stretch eventually requiring a replacement. One durable rubber belt is included. A wrench set might be needed to perform this repair. Check the owner's manual and the appropriate diagrams for your model to ensure the correct replacement procedure.

Unnecessarily dificult repair, due to poor machine design.
Toro did not make it easy to replace the drive belts on this lawn tractor. It took me nearly all day. You need to unbolt half of the machine to get a new belt onto the pulleys and idlers. Toro could have done a lot better in the user friendly design area.

... Read moren which is up frt, dropped the frt drive pulley and removed the belt. i should mention here that this is all done after pulling out the cutting deck. reversed the work to repair. This is not a quickie job but with the radio on and a couple of beers it really wasn\'t that bad. The parts cost me $132 but the local repair shop wanted $600 for the repair. Took me about total 8 hrs to complete the repair - time included some BS time with the neighbors who are curious ( who don\'t know which end of a screwdriver to use). If you have a friend or two who don\'t mind getting their hands dirty it goes a lot quicker. Mine is a Toro LX420
Had to remove deck. Then unbolted drive pulley at crank. Then rear variable pulley.Routed new drive belt,then reverse order reinstalled bolts to both pulleys.
Dropped the deck, lifted from of mower loosened a pulley removed the old belt and the put on new belt and tightened the pulley put the mower back on ground and put the deck back on.

Steering gear was partially stripped, bushings were worn, flange bushing was almost totally worn through, and drive belt was nearly broken.
Removed mower deck, jacked the mower up, removed steering pinion gear, removed electric clutch assembly, slid drive pully down crankshaft far enough to remove drive belt. Reverse procedure to reasemble. Slide steering shaft up and use punch to remove flange bearing, install new flange bearing, I was able slide it in place and get the stee
... Read morering shaft through it and position it and push it down with the shaft. Install new steering pinion gear. You must remove the battery and battery box to access belt pullies at transmission. Just watch what you are doing and don\'t get in a hurry.
