1. Removed wheel clips and wheels.
2. Remove bearings and hex shaft.
3. Slide out old friction wheel, taking note of washer locations.
4. Remove torx screws and install new friction wheel on wheel bearing assy.
5. Reverse steps 3-1.

Belts ok. Saved new parts for future use.

belts where bad and not throwing snow

Took out 6 bolts. 2 for the belt cover and 4 to split the blower from the drive train.Slid out the old belts and slid in the new 2 belts on the blower and put the drive belt on the drive disc and then in the motor shaft. reattached the blower to the drive unit then put on the 2 belts on the motor shaft. replaced ten chin spring and the belt cover.

I watched the Ariens video on YouTube and followed the steps in the service guide. Pretty straightforward except the wheel was frozen on and I was doing the repair in an unheated greenhouse in Alaska at 10-¦.

Wasn\'t that hard really took 2 bolt off on each side, disconnected spring and cross support/ shaft. Replaced belts. Then put it back together.

Found bearing plate had fractured.
Ordered from e-replacement parts. Also ordered belts for routine maintainance.
Followed youtube procedure.
Clearing snow two hours later.

Fairly easy . . . even for a 2-stage snowblower. Might go faster if a second person is present . . . especially when reattaching (bolting) stages, while lining up attachment belts at the same time.
