Drag system failure

Recently on a fishing trip the drag system for my Penn 9500ss reel failed. Once I opened up the reel I could see exactly what happened. Some of the teeth on the drag washer drive plate had sheared off so I did a complete replacement of the drag system on the spool. Everything went together rather easily. I would recommend anyone doing a r eplacement drag system on a Penn spinning reel before tightening up the drive plate, make sure the spool keyed washers align with the flat on the spool shaft before tightening. If they aren\'t aligned the spool will not seat all the way and the drag knob on top of the spool will not thread on. All in all I would say the repair went very easy.
