This worm shaft is a genuine replacement part which is supplied directly from the original manufacturer for Abu Garcia fishing reels. Using this worm shaft on a fishing reel will allow the operator to crank the reel's handle at a comfortable speed while the worm gear decreases the action. This makes it possible for small reels to handle large fish. This part performs best when kept clean and well lubricated with oil. It is made of high-quality metal and is sold individually. Make sure to check the appropriate diagram for your model for the correct application of this component. You will need a screwdriver to take the reel apart in order to perform this repair.
1. Remove the screw camp from top of level wind
2. Remove the Pilot Guide form inside of level wind pilot shaft
3. Remove the non-handle side of reel
4. Remove retainer holding worm gear in plain
5. Remove worm gear
6. Install new worm gear
7. Re-install retainer holding worm gear (be sure the line gui

8. Re-install reel side
9. Install new coil spring in screw cap
10. Install new pilot guide - gently slide back in while rotating worm gear to match groves
11. Re-install screw cap (be careful not to let coil spring to fall out when re-installing)
12. Use light weight reel oil on worm gear
1. Remove reel from rod
2. Remove side plate from reel
3. Pull out worm shaft
4. Remove pilot guide (BE VERY CAREFUL WITH THE PILOT GUIDE THE COIL SPRING IS TINY.
1. Removed right side of reel
2. Remove worm shift
3. Remove pilot guide
4. Remove bushing
5. Replace all parts removed and put back together.
