The most common reason for replacing the spindle is when the spindle is bent, causing the mower to not steer straight. This part is sold individually. The tools that you will need to replace the spindle are floor jack and a large flat-head screwdriver.

Wife hits trees too fast . Weld broke on spindle so unable to steer. Replaced (the part/not the wife)

Jacked up the garden tractor ; blocked the wheels and put a block under the deck. Safety is paramount. Pried off rubber cap on wheel and removed the retaining clip , washers and wheel. Got 2 wrenches to remove nut from \"tie rod end thingy\" pried off spindle rubber cap , clip , washer and part fell to ground. Greased up new part and inst alled in reverse order. I used pliers to install the retaining clips and the 90 degree \"hose pick\" to help install the rubber caps. Removed blocks lowered machine , MOC and test flight complete. Works good/lasts long time.
