Removed starter rope coil assembly (4 screws) then right side cover (4 screws) noting how trigger is installed. Remove 2 screws holding coil but first note how old coil is installed. Remove connecting wire. Then replace coil and put back together. I gapped the distance between the coil and flywheel magnets using a business card. This is second replacement coil for this blower. They seem to last about 2 years. If blower doesn\'t fire at all, it is probably the coil.

Note all screws are large torx type.

The electric pick up coil failed

Difficulty Level:
A Bit Difficult
Total Repair Time:
30 - 60 mins
Tools:
Socket set
Parts Used:
585836101
Removed the pull rope coil 4 torx screws
took out remaining torx screws to split the plastic case
Took big pipe air comes out of off ( probably didn\'t have too)
Checked the gap between the old coil and the fly wheel(mine was about .006 so that is what I set the new one too
I took a piece of sand paper and cleaned up the top of the flywheel to get rid of rust and build up on the flywheel
Two smaller torx screws attach the coil, they need to come off and the wire with the slide on connector Ned\'s to come off
Then replace the coil snugly but not tight so you can set the gap for both sides of the coil
When you have the gap set tighten and recheck the gap
Put it back together in reverse order
I put an extra twist on my pull start rope so that it pulls back into place quicker while it was apart this far
