Replaced oil pump and associated gear. Learning how to do it from an ereplacementparts video. I think we were using an oil that was too thick that caused the pump to run dry and eventually burning up the gearing. Now with the new pump and a lower viscosity oil, things are running great!

Chain Oiler stopped wirking

Removed bar cover, chain and bar. Then removed clutch and finally oil pump. Installed new pump and reversed procedure for reassembly. Worked well after completion.

Removed covers, chain and bar, unscrewed left-handed clutch and sprocket, carefully removed brake assembly w/brake on, unscrewed oil pump, popped oil suction out of housing, removed oil pump. Reversed procedure for assembly. Use small rope in sparkplug hole to hold crank when removing clutch sprocket housing. Protect eyes when removing br ake assembly.
