My miracle!
I have used my Presto canner for over 50 years and never had a single problem, but this summer when I opened the first cooker of meat that I can for soup, I apparently hadn't waited long enough. I thought the pressure was down, but it blew up sending hot broth all over the stove, counter and floor. the lid blew against me, knocked me to the floor and broke one handle and the steam gauge. I was not hurt at all which was miracle. I found the OLD instruction book with the replacement parts. At that time they were only a few dollars each. I went on-line to order the parts thinking it wouldn't be possible for something that old. It took a few weeks, but the parts came and fit perfectly. 1. Removed the steam gauge with an adjustable wrench and replace with the same wrench.
2. Used pliers to replace air vent.
3. Just inserted the sealing ring.

This was NOT a rice cooker (rice cooker being the only option. )My pressure canner needed a new gasket
I inserted the gasket into the canner lid but there was almost 2 inches too much gasket for the canner lid
