This is a genuine Presto replacement part, it is sold individually. The purpose of the 09907 Pressure Canner Sealing Ring/Air Vent is two-fold. The sealing ring is used to create a seal between the Pressure cooker lid and the pressure cooker pot. In the event if the pressure regulator fails, and to much pressure builds up in the pot, the Air Vent will pop out of the lid releasing the excess pressure in the pot.

Hi Bill, Thank you for your question. The part number for the air vent sealing ring is 09907. The part number listed for the automatic air vent is 09911. According to your owner's manual, for model number 01/CA21H, you will need to place cover on the canner by aligning the arrow on the cover with the word OPEN on the body; rotate clockwise. The arrow should now point to Closed; the cover handles should be directly above and between the lines of the body handles. We hope this helps!

Hello Janie, Thank you for your inquiry. You can try using a screwdriver wrapped in a piece of foam or masking tape to gently lift the lid until enough pressure is released to unstick the lid. Alternatively, if the canner is cold, you can try heating it by pouring boiling water over it to expand the top and allow it to unseal. You may have a faulty pressure regulator or air vent and sealing ring that is causing this.
