Purchased the replacement motor based on the picture of exhaust motor on website. The phone associate told me the motor would not work in my Broan unit based on model number info. But I ordered because it was the motor that I knew was right... There was one difference I found out though... and it was the length of the impeller shaft. The shaft on the new motor was about 1/2 inch longer than needed. So I did some delicate grinding with a bench grinder, knowing any alterations would make the motor nonreturnable. It was a $60 gamble, but it worked out fine. Oh, and get this... The motor I removed was made in the good ole USA. To bad it didn\'t last. Hoping the overpriced Chinese replacement works longer than some of the other throwaways coming out of that country

Took down the exhaust fan from the ceiling. Took it apart, cleaned dust and lint off of all parts, replaced the motor that was the problem, and put the fan back together and put it back into the ceiling. Works like a charm.

Once I found the model number I found the replacement motor and fan blade on Replacement Parts.com. Installation was easy with just a screwdriver and nutdriver. Standing on a stepladder and working over my head were the hardest parts.

Removed the fan cover.
Removed the old fan from the bracket that held it.
Took off the plastic fan blade (very carefully.) Suggest you spray WD40 on the shaft that hold the fan blade) That made taking the fan blue off very easy.
Put fan blade on new motor and reattach everything and you are done.
With new motor yo u can hardly hear the fan running,

Bathroom vent fan 20 years old quit working. Grille and lens cover had yellowed over time. Went with replacement parts so I could work inside the house and below and not have to attic crawl.

Removed grille and lens, removed motor housing. Both a have plug ends. Removed motor from housing. Cleaned housing and installed new motor. Reinstalled motor housing, light bulbs and grille. The lens cover on the grille was not as deep as the original. The light bulbs came close to hitting the inside of the cover and felt hot when on. Rep laced the old incandescent bulbs (2) with LED. No heat all good. Done. Note: Replacement motor is better quality than the original.

Removed the \'\'pressed on\'\' new nylon/plastic squirrel cage from the motor shaft, cut it @ 1/2\'\'
deeper, filed it smooth, installed squirrel cage, cut off the 1/2\" shaft extension.

Looking at the age of the unit, I was happy to be able to find anything to retrofit.
I could even use the old squirrel cage - so now I have a new part --
Job done. Paid. Up the road, or in my case down the road! Tom
