This is an original Bissell replacement part manufactured for use with upright vacuums. The hepa filter cleans the exhaust air to prevent particulates from escaping the vacuum into the air of the room. This hepa filter sold individually.

Ordered a new brush assembly. After receiving the brush. I unsnapped the back of the unit which allowed access to the brush assembly. I installed the brush, and belt that I already had, snapped the case back together and now we have a vacuum for years to come. I also replaced the hepa filter, which was very easy to do
Take out dust case, with Phillips head #2 screwdriver remove one screw to release filter box.
Clean all of the parts that were not replaced. Re-assemble.
Fit filter and click in the replacement grille
