This washer is an original part from Makita for use in miter saws. It is made of metal and attaches to the safety cover with a pan head screw. A screwdriver will be needed to replace this part if it becomes lost or broken. The washer is available individually.
My Makita LS1013L would not plunge down smoothly. If you \"helped\" the guard get started, it would work plunge easier.
