1- Removed the LH threaded chuck screw in the chuck
2- Inserted a 3/8 allen wrench in the chuck and tightened up the chuck
3- Laid the drill on its side and hit the allen wrench with a hammer to loosen the chuck on the spindle. Then turned the chuck all the way off of the spindle by hand.
4- Screwed the new chuck on the

Snapped Allan screw while trying to back out a stuck drill bit, 1-1/8\"x 12\" buried deep in a beam.
Tried to use vise grips to turn broken screw out. I was unable to grab the screw because not enough of the broken part was exposed. I used a center punch to see if I could turn it. Luckily it spun right out! I got lucky. I didn\'t have to drill the broken screw out.
