?This is an authentic OEM part for use with Poulan and Jonsered Chain Saws. The oil pump kit pumps oil to lubricate the bar and chain. The kit may include multiple parts; refer to your parts diagram for a complete list of parts included. The most common reasons for replacing the oil pump kit is if the bar oil is not reaching the chain the oiler is not pumping the bar oil or the chain gets excessively hot. The oil pump kit includes the pump assembly the spring worm gear and the installation screws. Here is a list of tools that are needed to replace the oil pump kit they are a chain adjustment tool, ratchet/socket, flat-blade screwdriver, small screwdriver, long-nosed pliers, adjustable pliers, clutch removal tool (optional) and an impact driver (optional).

Automatic chain oiler non-functional

2.) Remove top shroud and spark plug. Insert some medium thick rope into the combustion chamber to prevent the crankshaft from turning when you remove the clutch (see step 4).
3.) Use small screwdriver or needle-nose pliers to remove the clutch cover retaining clip and remove the clutch co ... Read more ver. Take note of the disassembly order and location of any thrust washers or shims
4.) Using a spanner wrench or specialty chainsaw clutch removal tool, remove the clutch. Note that the clutch is a LEFT-HAND thread, so turn clockwise to loosen.
5.) Remove 2 phillips head retaining screws from the automatic oiler assembly and carefully remove the oiler assembly from the saw.
6.) inspect the worm gear on the crankshaft and replace if necessary
7.) Install the new oiler assembly onto the crankshaft and make sure it engages the worm gear and seats smoothly. Install and tighten 2 phillips head retaining screws.
8.) Install and tighten the clutch. Note that the clutch is a LEFT-HAND thread, so turn counter-clockwise to tighten.
9.) Install the clutch cover, thrust washer and retaining clip.
10.) Remove the rope from the combustion chamber and install the spark plug and engine shroud
11.) Install the bar, chain and side cover. adjust the chain tension and tighten the securing knob.
