Removed, cover and chain.
Removed c-clip retaining clutch drum and removed the drum.
Removed clutch assembly (left-hand threads !) by tapping it with the hammer and brass punch.
Removed the large clutch washer and replaced it with the new washer and clutch assembly.
Lubed the clutch drum bearing and installed the d rum.
Re-installed the c-clip.
Ready for a new chain and cover.

Chain would not turn - the drive gear teeth were worn and needed replacing

Removed cover. Removed spark plug. Rotated piston just short of TDC. Inserted nylon rope into spark plug hole to stop piston from moving. Used a hammer and punch to unthread the clutch (clockwise - reverse threads). Threaded on new clutch and reinstalled new clutch housing, washers, etc. Reinstalled spark plug and cover.

Chain would not hold tension, and was continuously slipping off bar. Also got very hot when cutting small logs

I simply replaced the old parts with new ones in the reverse order of their removal. I did have to refer to my owner\'s repair manual for the clutch set.

Removed outer housing and chain. Removed lock clamp and washer, then removed clutch cover. Before removing clutch, top housing was removed, and then removed spark plug.Inserted nylon rope in cylinder chamber when piston is in the down position. Then removed clutch. Removed the four screws on brake chain assembly and removed. Replaced new chain brake assembly and replaced new parts as the old one came off.

Removed saw bar and chain
Removed clutch drum
Removed spark plug
Fed rope into cylinder to prevent cylinder from moving
Used screwdriver and hammer to remove clutch by pounding on clutch counter clock-wise
Re-assemble with new parts in reverse order
