The purpose of the 107-3344 Eyelet is to let the cutting line out of the spool assembly with out damaging the part of the housing the the eyelet is installed in.
It also allows the cutting line to exit the spool smoothly with out being cut.

2. Inserted the new spring and the guide.
3. Oiled all elements to reduce the friction.
4. Tested and ran the device.
Oil made it easier to unscrew cap for maintenance and for line to advance.
Parts were worn out so automatic trimmer line feed did not work.

2. Removed old spool.
3. Removed the old eyelet, used a screwdriver to pry it out.
4. Slid new eyelet in place.
5. Wound new trimmer line onto spool then installed spool over spring.
6. Depressed spool and spring slightly and installed cap-drum.
The trimmer eyelet guide popped off the trimmer and into the grass. Couldn't be found.
