This was an easy fix that unfortunately didn't take. I snapped the new eyelet guide into place and pressed to secure. My son used the trimmer for about 5 minutes, and the piece popped off into the grass. Although we searched, we didn't find it. I would recommend gluing the piece in place and waiting 12 to 24 hours before using. And ordering a couple of extra ones.

1. Removed the cord cap.
2. Inserted the new spring and the guide.
3. Oiled all elements to reduce the friction.
4. Tested and ran the device.
Oil made it easier to unscrew cap for maintenance and for line to advance.

Screwdriver, No other tools needed.
1. Removed old cap-drum
2. Removed old spool.
3. Removed the old eyelet, used a screwdriver to pry it out.
4. Slid new eyelet in place.
5. Wound new trimmer line onto spool then installed spool over spring.
6. Depressed spool and spring slightly and installed cap-drum.
