Product Description

?

A carburetor basically consists of an open pipe through which the air passes into the inlet manifold of the engine. The pipe is in the form of a Venturi: it narrows in section and then widens again, causing the airflow to increase in speed in the narrowest part. Below the Venturi is a butterfly valve called the throttle valve ' a rotating disc that can be turned end-on to the airflow, so as to hardly restrict the flow at all, or can be rotated so that it (almost) completely blocks the flow of air. This valve controls the flow of air through the carburetor throat and thus the quantity of air/fuel mixture the system will deliver, thereby regulating engine power and speed. The throttle is connected, usually through a cable or a mechanical linkage of rods and joints. Fuel is introduced into the air stream through small holes at the narrowest part of the Venturi and at other places where pressure will be lowered when not running on full throttle.

Following the instructions I found here, I removed and replaced the fuel tank and carburetor. Whole thing took about 20 minutes. Pumped the fuel bulb, Pulled the rope, and there I was, Master of the Universe! Awesome.... Only thing that was remotely tricky was caring for the paper gasket under the carb. Used an exacto knife to slide under the gasket to make sure it didn\'t tear.

You start by removing the air filter assembly. Then remove the throttle and fuel lines from the old carburetor. Unscrew the two screws holding the old carburetor on and remove the carburetor. Now place the new carburetor in its place and screw the two screws in to hold it. Install the throttle and fuel lines. Then replace the air filter assembly, and you are done.

Gas trimmer would not run properly

I tried to clean the carburetor out, with no luck. Gas trimmer would start, but would die shortly after starting. I ordered a new carburetor and o-ring, fuel tank which included new fuel lines and filters, and a new spark plug. I also purchased, not through this site, a set of carb adjustment screw drivers. Removal and installation of the new parts took about 10 minutes. Trimmer fired up right away, but didn\'t run properly. After making a few adjustments on the carburetor, with the proper tools, trimmer runs like new. Saved myself a good amount of money, because if this didn\'t work, I was ready to throw it in the trash and get a new trimmer. Carburetor through this site was a factory direct replacement of the original carb I pulled off the trimmer. Could have saved a few bucks buying from another site, buying a knockoff carburetor on Amazon. You will get a genuine Walbro, like was installed from the factory, for your trimmer. Would definitely recommend if your having the same issues I was experiencing. Getting a set of carburetor adjustment screwdrivers was key to making this happen. They are fairly cheap, got a set of 8 for about 18 bucks. If you don\'t want a set, you will need a single d screwdriver to make adjustments. My project was on a Troy-Bbilt TB-22EC trimmer.
