Removed fuel lines from air purge body assembly. Removed the purge bulb retainer. Removed fuel line grommet from fuel tank by prying out with a screw drive. Inserted new fuel line, fuel vent line, and fuel return lines in new fuel line grommet. Inserted new grommet with lines into fuel tank by carefully using a screw driver to push gr ommet into the opening. Then inserted fuel tank vent into the vent line. As a precaution, I changed out the air purge body assembly. Attached the fuel line and the fuel return line to the air purge body assembly. I had taken a photo of the connections before dis-assembly to be sure I got the lines back in the right places. Installed the new purge bulb and reinstalled the purge bulb retainer. Hedger now runs great.

My Echo trimmer, SRM-210 had a broken inlet gas line post on the surge valve from damage received from falling off the tailgate of my truck. This made it impossible to prime the carb or supply gas to

Item repair is an Echo SRM-210. I removed the air filer cap, then the complete air filter assembly. This will also remove the carburetor from the engine intake, so re-install the two bolts back into the carb mounting but leave the air filter assembly off. This keeps the carb from moving dramatically while replacing the purge valve.
Then remove the purge valve holding plate (4 screws) taking notice of its direction for remounting later.
Then remove the single center screw located in the middle of the purge valve itself. This will completely release the purge valve from the carburetor. Take care with the gasket so as not to tear. Take notice of which fuel line goes on which post for re-installing the new purge valve.
Inspect the primer button for future cracks or brittleness and replace if necessary.

The installation must be carefully completed so as not to break the new purge valve posts. Any medium to hard side pressure applied to these post will snap them off or cause a crack at the base.

For installation, I put a liberal amount of Dawn liquid soap on the posts before pressing the fuel line onto the post. The inlet fuel line is much tighter fit and care must be given for a straight push during installation.

Once the lines are installed properly, carefully align the new purge valve and gasket back in place to re-install the single center screw. If necessary pull out a small amount of fuel line from the fuel tank to allow more movement or pull the line into the fuel tank from the inside to remove any excess fuel line.
Install the single center screw snugly tight.
Then replace the purge valve holding plate with the four screws making sure it faces the same original direction and aligning the primer button into the circular groove in the face of the purge valve. Tighten in a circular pattern.
While holding the carburetor against the engine, prime the carburetor with the primer button to insure proper function of the new valve and to check for leaks.
If all is satisfactory, replace air filter assembly and cap.

Just unscrew the air filter to disassemble the two screws. The priming bulb and metal plate will come apart the part will have a small screw unscrew that screw, take the old gasket if in good shape reused or replace. The retrace how you disassemble put the screws back hook up the fuel lines.

Rebuilt carburetor. Replaced: fuel vent line and vent; fuel supply line; fuel return line; fuel tank grommet; inlet gasket; primer. Procedure wasn\'t difficult due in large part to the availability of the training videos on this website and youtube. The only issue I had was that I tried to put the fuel jet hold down bracket on upside d own. I reviewed the video and caught my error. It was fun for me as I had never (successfully) rebuilt this type of carb before.
