Product Description
?This is an authentic Porter Cable replacement part, sold individually. Bevel gear is part of the assembly that raises and lowers the blade on the saw. It mates with another bevel gear just like. It is connected to the 5140083-17 height adj. bolt and then to the 5140083-25 handwheel assembly. The second bevel gear is mounted to the 5140083-14 height worm. They are both attached to these shafts by two 5140082-88 hex hed screws. If the original gear is plastic these must be ordered separately. Used with the table saws listed below.

1.To make this easy remove the saw from the stand and turn the saw upside down.
2.Remove the blade and till the blade to 45 degrees. This makes it easy to work on height bolt assembly and height worm.

4. I had to remove the anchor block. then remove the height worm.
Remember where the washers go on the height adjust bolt so when you reinstall it in the correct place.

1- Remove Phillips screws from plastic blade housing.
2-Remove plastic blade housing.
3-Remove blade to access and remove 2 hex bolts that hold on the aluminum guide sleeve/block.
4-Remove nut and washer on the bottom of the height adjustment rod.
5-Now the guide block will slide off ... Read more the height adjustment rod.
6-Using Phillips screwdriver , loosen set screws in the stripped bevel gears and slide them off the height adjustment rod and handle rod.
7-Reinstall new bevel gears and Phillips set screws.
8-Slide aluminum guide block back over height adjustment rod and secure it to the blade housing using the 2 hex bolts.
9-Reinstall washer and nut onto height adjustment rod.
10-Reintall saw blade.
11-Reinstall plastic blade cover and secure it using the Phillips screws.
