Tip machine upright onto agar housing. Remove lower cover with 6 bolts attaching. Disconnect cable at handle grips. Attach spring from cable to control lever located under machine and proceed to connect cable at handle lever. Adjust cable slack with threaded piece. In a pinch, I would put another hook on the end of the old spring of the c able and connect it back. If you don\'t bend it properly, the lever on the clutch will not work quite right. Also once a spring breaks once, it is not long before it breaks off again. This is why I order the correct replacement part asap. I also think that while you have your machine apart it is good to replace other springs or cables that appear corroded. Take a look at belts too.

Removed bottom plate (3/8 wrench I believe). Loosened (not removed) small guide pulley on handle to slip out old cable off which in turn made it easy to slip new one back on. Attached cable to clutch lever. Reattached bottom plate after brief inspection of clutch wheel etc. Then adjusted cable for desired drive line tension.

propped up the snow blower, looked it over, the lower part of the cable fell off, used vise grip to hold the 1/8\" threaded part near the top handle to unscrew it, loosen the plastic roller pulley with 1/2\" wrench, oiled the threads, tightened it back up, greased and oiled all exposed parts. It was one of the easier snow blowers to work on .of the 100\'s I have worked on because I received the correct part.
