1. Remove the guard and the sander pad.
2. Remove the housing captive nut.
3. Remove the air motor.
4. Rebuild the air motor.
5. Reassemble.

Sander locked up would not turn

Remove sanding pad, unscrew retaining nut holding the internals into the sander.
Use a bearing puller to disassemble the housing holding the rotor and blades. Once everything is disassembledand cleaned, press the felt washer and lower bearing onto the rotor shaft, lower plate,and rotor housing. Coat the lower plate and rotor housing using a light coat of airtool oil. Install the rotor again coated with airtool oil. Install the blades, liberaly coated with oil, into the rotor. Then its the upper plate, lightly coated with oil, and top bearing. install assembly back into the sander body.
