Genuine Dynabrade replacement part, this item is sold individually. The purpose of the 56027 Muffler is to lessen the noise of the air coming from the exhaust of the tools listed below. It will also filter out the excess oil that is in the tool. Once these Inserts get dirty and clogged they should be replaced.

Air bypassing air motor tool not functioning

1. Remove the guard and the sander pad.
2. Remove the housing captive nut.
3. Remove the air motor.
4. Rebuild the air motor.
5. Reassemble.

Removed the sanding pad
Removed the muffler
Carefully unscrewed the air motor lock ring
With some persuasion in the vice the motor came out of the plastic housing, gentle in the vice.
Lots of cleaning and wiping out the cavity with acetone.
Grease in all the seals.
