This is a genuine Presto replacement part designed for use with pressure canners and cookers. This vent pipe is a safety feature, once the pressure is at a certain point the center of this part will pop up. This will not allow you to remove the lid until either the pressure is released by the pressure regulator or the cooker has been taken from the heat source. It is made out of metal and it is sold individually.

Hello Joanne, Thank you for your inquiry. If you are referring to the pressure regulator, it is designed to rock when the pressure reaches 15 pounds. Check your steam gauge and make sure the pressure is getting up to 15 pounds, and if the regulator is still not rocking, then it may not be seated on the vent pipe correctly and need to be replaced. For the model number that you have provided, the short handles are part# 85639, the body handle is part# 85638, the cover handle is part# 85637, the air vent and cover lock (with gaskets) is part# 85610, the vent pipe is part# 85608, the cooking rack is part# 85341, the sealing ring with overpressure plug is part# 09936, the pressure regulator is part# 09978 and the instruction manual is part# 72856. Sadly, we do not show the lid listed. We strongly recommend you contact the manufacturer, as they would have this information in their system. Ask them for the part number you require and contact back to see if it is something we carry. We hope this helps.
