This adjustment screw is an OEM part direct from Echo. The metal item is compatible with chainsaws and trimmers. This component assists the tensioner with the tightness of the chain to the blade. A screwdriver and a nutdriver are helpful for making the replacement. The adjustment screw is sold individually.
Removed the sprocket guard
Loosened the tension on the blade and the bar
Remove the blade and bar
Remove the old tensioner and the adjustment screw
Install the new bar and chain
Install the sprocket guard
The first rule of chainsaws: NEVER loan your chainsaw! ... Read morethe local guy. Just unscrew the old, and replace with the new. I would order the other part that attaches to the screw and replace both out of general principle though.
Took the chain cover off. Removed old parts and installed new parts. Very simple fix. The only problem was the parts shown for my model and serial number were wrong so I had to order the correct parts. I had to look at different model numbers to find the correct parts
