When my saw stopped working I decided to replace the brushes, and when I did that I noticed the armature was burned out. The process for replacing the armature started when I had to take blade guard off and the blade to get to a small screw that holds the left side of the armature. ... Read moressembling was very easy after that. I put some grease on the new gears where the armature meets the gears on the blade. Not a hard job at all. Saw runs like new again. Sure beats buying a new saw for $450.00 bucks. I also bought a dust chute, kerf plate, and deflector because they were pretty worn.
1. Torn down to bear bones
2. Clean off years of rust by soaking in vinegar for 2 days
3. Remove busted bolts and re-tap hole 2 days (both SAE and Metric)
4. Begin re-assemble and lubricate moving parts 3 days
5. Test and align saw 1 day
Note: Only work on 1 to 3 hours per day
