Replacement of the throttle cable was straightforward, requiring only a Philips screwdriver and pliers.
Replacement of cutting shaft, cutting disc and height guide required removal of the cutting sub assembly from the trimmer but was also straightforward using a socket set. The cutting disc is held on the shaft with a 1/8\" hex set -screw, the only slightly non-standard tool required for the job. Cleaning the set-screw in order to insure you can completely engage the hex wrench is a good idea, as I found considerable torque was needed to break the screw loose.
When replacing the cutting sub assembly on the trimmer, be sure the belt is still properly threaded past the two tensioning pulleys.
