This is a genuine part that is sourced directly from the original equipment manufacturer for use with Husqvarna walk-behind lawn mowers. The idler pulley applies tension on the drive belt. It is an identical replacement for a damaged or a missing component that was installed on a new unit. One durable idler pulley with pre-installed bearings is included. Pressure washed deck to remove debris. Unbolted cover . Unbolted idler pulley. Disassembled redrive pulley. Replaced belt and idler. Reassembled

Drained the gas and oil out of engine. Turned the lawnmower on it side. Removed all covers and replaced the idler pulleys.

Mower would not self propel

I first replaced the pulley belt, one idler pulley wheel, and the missing tension spring. It propelled, but made an odd noise when the self propel engaged. I checked the other two pulley idlers and they showed some wear, though they were not frozen stuck like the first pulley idler I replaced. I replaced the other two worn pulleys and now the mower works fine! Also, since the tires were worn and slipping on the grass I put screws in the plastic tires (kinda like studs in winter tires) and that really helps with the self propel action.

Remove blade, remove drive belt cover. Remove defective pulley. Drift bushing out of old pulley and place it into new pulley. Attach new pulley, replace cover, and re-attach blade and tighten. Done in 20 minutes.

Idle pulleys , belt and drive cable

Removed all plastic guards on front of lawnmower and underneath lawnmower and took the drive pulley off to take belt off. Then changed the idle pulleys, put the belt back on then put drive pulley with belt back on. Then removed old drive cable and put new drive cable on and replaced all plastic guards back in place after finishing I start ed lawnmower and everything worked fine.
