I undid the hardware holding the old ignition. Undid the old wiring because the new part came with the wires. I installed the new parts.

Took 3/4 of the grill apart to replace the fire bowl. Not a hard job just time consuming. Lots of screws.

Broke all the old stuff off and then vacuumed the entire pit of the grill. The burners and covers fit perfectly. I replaced a bad knob and igniter which was the hardest part only because I had to remove and reinstall screws for the side shelves to remove the knob panel. Other than that the cleaning part took the longest but my 20-year-old grill is basically brand new and I\'ve used it twice already even in the middle of winter. Take the time to clean it out with a vacuum while you\'re there it\'s definitely worth the effort.

Removed and replaced logo plate on cover. Installed 4 new flame tamers under grill surfaces. Removed old ignition kit, which did not work, and installed the new kit. These were all quite simple, requiring no special skills. I was glad to find parts were still available through ereplacementparts, where I have purchased other parts in the p ast for various repairs. Thanks.
