I disconnected the fuel hose from the carbureter, removed the fuel tank brackets, discarded all of the original rubber parts, cleaned the tank thoroghly with solvent and paper towels, threaded the new fuel line into the tank, installed the new fuel filter, installed the check valve & gasket in the fuel cap. Remove the fuel from the tank. Bend a hook in a coat hanger or a heavy wire and fish the fuel filter out. Remove the filter from the hose. Remove the grommet from the bottom side of the tank and remove the fuel line from the tank and carburetor. Push enough of the new fuel line into the tank and fish it out and attach the new fuel filter.
... Read more Insert the fuel filter in the tank and pull out the fuel line until the filter sits at the bottom of the fuel tank. Dab some oil on the grommet and press it into the tank. Then hook the fuel line to the carburetor.
