I connected one end to the control handle and wrapped the cable around the handle shaft so there was no sagging and connected the other end to the throttle lever on the engine and snapped the plastic stop into place and it was ... 3.Using a nut driver I removed the drive assembly cover and used a screwdriver to pry cable bracket from the handle. Once the cover was removed the old drive cable was easy to remove and replace without the need for further tools. Once the cover was replaced and new bracket, (which comes with the cable), was pressed into place I started the mower ensuring everything worked. All told all the repairs took about 30 min total and there were no surprises making for a very easy and trouble free fix.
Squeezing the start handle did not move the control near the engine and was unable to start the mower.

It was very difficult to remove the old assembly. The locking collars on the cable\'s sheath were hard to disconnect. The collars snap in but are almost impossible to remove.
I finally cut the old sheath/cable and pulled the collars out of the mower\'s mounting brackets.
