I had a friend that had a Lawn Machine mower sitting under a tarp in her yard for nearly 2 years. I put gas in the tank, primed it, and it just wouldn\'t start. She gave it to me. I took it home, pulled off the pull-rope assembly, gas tank and carburetor, and cylinder head. When I pulled the head, the head gasket crumbled a little, so I ordered a new one. While waiting for the gasket, I blew out the carburetor and flushed the gas tank with carb cleaner. I then cleaned the spark plug and the stater magnets with more cleaner and a wire brush. I then used more cleaner and a green scouring pad to clean the carbon off of the combustion chamber, valve heads, and piston face. I also changed the oil. I got the new head gasket after a few days, put it all back together, gassed it up, and it started on the first pull.

Removed air filter, exhaust muffler and cover over pull cord assembly, and disconnected throttle cable at carburetor, then removed head and gasket. Cleaned head and reinstalled with new gasket. Installed new air filter and spark plug and put everything back together. Filled with fresh gas and it started right up on 6th pull, and ran like a champ. Still running good after 3 weeks.
