Product Description

?

This genuine OEM sourced replacement part is designed for use with pressure washers. If the pressure washer runs too long with out the release of water from the sprayer, the water will heat up inside the pump. Once the water gets to a certain temperature the thermal valve will open and release the pressurized hot water, to protect the pump. If this happens too often you have a greater chance of damaging your pump. This valve consists of one (1) metal and one (1) plastic piece. To complete this repair you will need a wrench.

Motor runs fine but when I squeeze the trigger it stops. Think bad unloader valve and do you have one?
Dennis For model number 020337 Troy-bilt washer - February 18, 2023

Hi Dennis, Thank you for your question. If the motor on the compressor runs, but then stops after you pull the trigger, you likely have a malfunctioning unloader valve, but you should also check the piston, the o-rings and the trigger. If the unloader valve is not set correctly and the trigger is not working correctly when you press it, the pressure washer will shut down. Once you have determined the part you need, please call customer service. We look forward to hearing from you!

Hello Jeff, Thank you for your inquiry. We have researched the model number you have provided and we would recommend checking the thermal relief valve, the water outlet kit, the o-rings, and the check valves. Good luck with your repair.

Tried the simple part changes first as suggested by E-replacement parts
after doing all the simple part changes, the washer still didn\'t have pressure.

Following the directions on the videos at e- replacement parts
I then took the pump off the washer.
Dissembled the pump, cleaned everything
Changed a few o-rings.. Use o ring grease
Reassembled the pump and attached it to the base of the pressure washer.
Works like new now.
I\'ll be looking for broken pressure washers at garage sales. Now that I know how to fix them it will take half the time.
Some things to look for before disassembly.
1. Debris in the water inlet, especially if you don\'t have a screen, get one.
2. Debris in the valves after disassembly
3. Take note and mark with a sharpy the direction of how to reattach the pump to the base. On mine, theirs only one way it will go, but you also have to get the key lined up when inserting the drive shaft. This will save some time and frustration.
4. Take everything apart and lay everything out on a clean rag in order for reassembly

Good luck, this was a relatively easy project.
