took the chipper apart, shroud, and blades, replaced cutter blades reassembled shroud. 88years old, down on my knees in the dirt. After 3 minutes every muscle and joint screaming out, \" Stop---quit===go find your chair. But I got it done, and the chipper works. Praise God!!!!
Disconnected spark plug, removed housing guards from both branch shredder and leaf shredder, removed blades (spacer on new one not necessary according to Craftsman notice), installed new ones, replaced housings, connected spark plug and ran engine. Will sharpen original blades and keep for emergency.

Just wanted a second set of blades so that I always have a set ready to go
1 opened machine to allow access to worn blades.
2 Required removal of a dozen nuts and bolts using socket and adjustable wrench.

Removed all sheet metal to get access to the blades. One of the blades was worn beyond sharpening. Removed old blade and installed new blade. Put machine back together and checked operation.
