1. Removed engine from chassis
2. Removed oil pan (base of engine)
3. Cleaned out old parts from governor using magnet to get very small slivers
4. Scraped off old gasket (tough)
5. Installed new governor/new washer and cup
6. Installed new gasket
7. Replaced oil pan
8. Reinstalled engine onto cha ssis
9. Tested

Over revving motor,blown up governor.

Removed both drive belt and deck belts,unhooked electric clutch and drive belt pulley from motor shaft, unbolted motor from frame, unhooked throttle control, unhooked all electrical connectors from motor, unhooked fuel line from fuel pump, drained oil from motor, pulled motor from frame and from muffler at same time, turned motor on its t op and removed governor lever from governor shaft and removed sump cover from motor block, CAUTION PRY UP ON COVER FROM SEVERAL POINTS, pay attention to oil pump shaft falling out of pump and return it to full inserted point back in to oil pump impeller and place grease in to the shaft hole to lock pump shaft in its place( make sure shaft is all the way in and in line with camshaft end slot or cover will not seat flush with both halves of block ) remove cir clip from governor shaft slip off destroyed governor and washer from shaft, wipe out any trash from sump cover and retrieve governor pieces from block area with a magnet and double check all areas with a flash light to MAKE SURE THAT ALL GOVERNOR PIECES ARE REMOVED FROM BLOCK AREA, install washer then governor then clip then top hat (governor cup) for governor wings then make sure governor control shaft is in flat to case to be in correct position on top of governor top hat, place sump cover on block, bolt it down evenly and hook up governor throttle lever back up to governor shaft on sump case making sure to keep shaft turned to the governor top hat contact position ( turn shaft clock wise until stop then lock lever to shaft with bolt on lever clamp ) reverse installing motor from removal and reinstall oil in motor and put new oil filter on motor and duct tape a round speaker magnet on the top of oil filter to catch any metal particles that may be still in oil sump area, then replace oil and filter after 1 to 2 hours of use then reinstall magnet on filter for a full season of use the when oil next change dispose of magnet, HAPPY MOWING.

Drained the oil, removed the engine from mower, removed oil pump, split the case cleaned all the old gasket material, cleaned both halves of the case, replaced the governor assembly, installed new gaskets, put the case back together, put engine back on mower, installed clutch and pulley system, adjusted the governor, started the mower and when to mowing the yard, no issues, and ran like a brand new mower.

Removed engine from mower, removed pulley\'s and sump cover. Replaced Governor, crank shaft seal and sump cover gasket with new bolts. Make sure crank shaft is positioned correctly or sump cover is difficult to install forcing sump cover on will damage governor gear.
