When I tightened the bolt which held the clamp onto the handle, I noticed that the outside legs of the clamp went beyond just contacting the handle as they were molded for and this would have caused premature failure again. I then placed a spacer on the bolt, between the clamp and the handle before tightening down the bolt. This caused
... Read morethe outside legs to contact the handle at the right place and did not cause the legs to spread out. By doing this, I decreased the tension on the outside legs and hopefully the clamp will last longer than the original. Otherwise, the part was exactly like the original and went right into place,

1. Purchased the new cable fitting.
2. Removed the bolt and the nut holding the original fitting to the snowblower handle.
3. Placed both cables into the fitting and mounted to the handle with the original nut and the bolt.
4. Tightened the nut with a phillips head screwdriver and an adjustable wrench.
