This replacement part is sourced from original equipment manufacturer for use with Briggs and Stratton engines. Its purpose is to filter out dust and debris from contaminating engine. This cartridge will get dirty over time requiring replacement. It is made out of pleated paper with a plastic base/frame. Includes one (1) filter cartridge per order. Replacing air filter is an easy and quick job. You would need a wrench to complete this repair. • First remove bolt that secures filter cover • Remove cover and filter retainer • Take out old air filter • Clean out filter housing • Place new air filter in the case • Reassemble and test the engine

Broken on off switch

Remove air filter assembly, remove pull start housing (4 bolts), remove broken connector from wire, squeeze two sides of switch with pliers and slide switch from housing. Push new switch in hole, connect wire. replace start housing back in place connect air filter housing with new filter. Replaced fuel filter while I was at it, Pliers req uired for clamps..

Removed the air filter housing to get to the carburetor. Removed and cleaned. Replaced with the new gaskets and the air filter. Changed the plug. Ran like a champ.

Simply oiled the pre-filter, patted the excess oil into an absorbent towel, assembled into the retainer that I purchased and installed into the carburetor casing. Was happy to be able to find the part at ereplacement as with the age of the machine the part was not readily available.
